About:
'This song is a metaphor on many levels. A lot of us were not in a good place when this band started, and through music, we are now in the best place we have felt in a long time. It's a metaphor for the band itself, our journey from this time last year to now. It's our message about local music, that it needs supporting before it goes. That music should be fun, not just an image worn to look cool. We've all experienced doubters, from our previous bands, to starting this, and it's kind of a middle finger to that negativity. It's a metaphor for getting out of bad times, turning negatives into positives'
lyrics
Lyrics:
I can't help the way that I hold on to past memories
and the times that we cherished, when we had friends like these.
Now it's all gone, and we left it all in bitterness.
Let's trace back the steps, pick up the pieces, and fix what still remains.
What we once called a family has been brought down on to it's knees.
(maybe someday it will all change)
Gotta get up, gotta get out of this town
If we stay here they'll drag us down
And I know we'll be just fine
on the path we chose this time.
Don't look back, don't hold up
It's time for us to grow.
It's time for us to move on.
The places and faces we used to love grew old
and through no fault of our own, all your lines became mis-sold.
You used to believe in the words you sung but somewhere down the line it all went wrong.
We can do this without you,
We won't let you hold us back anymore.
